As a tourist, a trip to Hiroshima, Japan would include a visit to the Peace Memorial Park and Museum, where one can learn about the history and impact of the atomic bombing. The Shukkeien Garden offers a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of the city, complete with a traditional tea house. Finally, a trip to the Hiroshima Castle would provide insight into the rich cultural heritage of the area, with stunning views of the city to top it off.

• Check into Hotel Granvia Hiroshima, located right next to the train station
• Head to nearby Okonomimura for lunch, a food hall specializing in the local savoury pancake, okonomiyaki
• Walk around Peace Memorial Park, which commemorates the victims of the atomic bomb, and visit the museum to learn more about the history of Hiroshima
• Take a ferry to Miyajima Island and see the famous floating Torii gate at Itsukushima Shrine
• Dine at one of the many seafood restaurants in Miyajima, where the local specialty is grilled oysters

• Start the day with a visit to Shukkeien Garden, a traditional Japanese garden with various ponds and mini landscapes

• Stop by Momiji-dani-koen Park and see the stunning autumn foliage
