The best way to get to Klaipėda by plane is to fly into Palanga International Airport which is located about 30 km away from the city center. There are direct flights available from major cities in Europe such as Berlin, Riga, Warsaw, and Copenhagen.

Car

Driving to Klaipėda is a great option if you plan to explore the surrounding areas as well. The city is accessible by the A1 highway which connects Vilnius and Klaipėda. The journey takes approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes.

Train

Although there is no direct train to Klaipėda, you can take a train to the city of Šiauliai and then transfer to a bus which will take you to Klaipėda in about 2 hours. The journey by train from Vilnius to Šiauliai takes approximately 3 hours.

Boat

Although Klaipėda is a port city, there are no regular passenger ferry services. However, you can take a ferry from Kiel or Travemünde in Germany to Klaipėda if you have your own boat or if you book a private charter.

Bus

The best way to get to Klaipėda by bus is to take a coach from major cities in Lithuania such as Vilnius, Kaunas, or Šiauliai. The journey from Vilnius to Klaipeda takes approximately 4 hours, while the journey from Kaunas takes about 2 hours and 30 minutes.
