Almada is a charming city located on the banks of the Tagus River, opposite Lisbon. As a tourist, you can explore Cristo Rei, a majestic statue of Christ that is a symbol of Portugal's catholic faith, and enjoy breathtaking views of the city from the top. You can also visit the 16th-century Fort of St. Jerome, go surfing or swimming at the nearby beaches of Costa da Caparica, or taste delicious seafood at one of the many restaurants along the coast.
