A trip to Blackpool on a limited budget can still be enjoyable. Visitors can start by exploring the iconic Blackpool Tower and taking a stroll on the famous promenade. For a cheap eat, they can head to local fish and chip shops or sample baked goods at Coral Island.

Day trip plan

• Start your day with a stroll on Blackpool's famous beach, and breathe in the fresh sea air. Don't forget to snap some pictures of the iconic Blackpool Tower in the background!
• Head to Coral Island, a family-friendly arcade on the Promenade. You can play games, have a go at the rides, and even try your hand at some classic seaside activities, like hook-the-duck and tin-can alley.
• When hunger strikes, grab some fish and chips from Harry Ramsden's, a Blackpool institution. The portions are huge, and the batter is crispy and golden.
• After lunch, make your way to the North Pier. Sit on a bench and enjoy the views of the Irish Sea, or take a ride on the Victorian carousel it's like stepping back in time!
• For some culture, visit the Grundy Art Gallery. They have a rotating selection of contemporary art exhibitions, and it won't cost you a penny to enter. Donations are welcome, though!
• End your day with a sweet treat from Notarianni Ice Cream, a family-owned business that's been serving up delicious scoops since 1928. Try their signature vanilla and rum & raisin flavours they're to die for.
